The continued success of the Kaleidoscope Scheme Archive depends upon the authors of the Kaleidoscope community submitting their color schemes for inclusion in the collection. The sheer size of the project means that our time to ferret out color schemes for you will be greatly limited. Therefore, we strongly urge you to make it a matter of habit to submit your new and updated color schemes to the Kaleidoscope Scheme Archive on a regular basis. This will supply you with the widest audience and ensure that color scheme fans will have as complete a selection as possible from which to choose.
If you have authored a color scheme which you feel represents a significant effort, on your part, to create a new interface, different from existant color schemes, we will gratefully consider your submission. It must be stressed that all original color schemes will be considered for inclusion. There have been a number of color schemes which have been only slightly altered and re-released as original, or created in an attempt to duplicate copyrighted or trademarked materials. These will not be considered for inclusion. It would not be fair to the authors who put, perhaps, hundreds of hours of work into creating a piece of art for Kaleidoscope fans if we were to give these cheap "hacks" equal billing. Final decision on color scheme inclusion rests with the members of the Archive.
We strive for as complete a collection as possible, but reserve the right not to post any particular scheme or the schemes of any particular author (for reasons including, but not limited to, objections regarding originality, problems with technical accuracy, intellecual property concerns or archive space constraints). In the event that we feel obliged to remove schemes already posted, we will first contact the author by e-mail, where possible. However, this does not apply in instances where constant and blatantly offensive public harassment is perpetuated, and that alone may be considered as grounds for removal from this archive. Finally, we welcome any comments, suggestions or constructive criticism regarding this archive or Kaleidoscope in general.
Submissions must be made via email as attachments. Please ensure that all color schemes have an informative document included, stating, at the least, the color scheme name as well as the author's name, email address and web site address, if applicable. Lastly, ensure that all color scheme components, including documentation, have been placed in a single folder and compressed. Compression technology is built into some email applications or is available as shareware from Aladdin Systems. Properly submitted color schemes meeting inclusion criteria will be displayed on the New And Updated Schemes page within a week of submission.
All color scheme submissions must be made to evangelist@kaleidoscope.net and NOT to Greg Landweber's address. For problems or comments about the Kaleidoscope control panel, please see the contact information on the main Kaleidoscope page. Heartfelt thanks to all those who submit color schemes.
